On Sunday, 16th of November, an
authentic Cretan “Kazanema” Feast will be held at the premises of the winning
Traditional Village "Cressa Ghitonia" at Sfaka, in Eastern Crete, in
order to highlight the unique production process of the famous Cretan “raki”, accompanied
by live music and Cretan lyre! In addition, guests and visitors will have the
opportunity to taste traditional recipes from the ladies of the village of Sfaka.
The event will start from 11:00 am on Sunday
and will be completed at 21:00 pm on the evening of the same day. What is this all about? Raki making is a traditional Cretan practice and
also an opportunity for people to get together, eat, drink, sing and
celebrate the 'harvest' of their grapes! The aim of this event is the
revival of the traditional customs and lifestyle, for which the villages of
Crete are famous. A great opportunity to enjoy this unique process in Sfaka, where you can see our renovated houses which originally were built in the 1800s and now they serve as guest houses, restaurant & SPA "Cressa Ghitonia". Cressa Ghitonia has received awards for 4 years in a row for its exceptional aesthetics and services by the organization International Hotel Awards in cooperation with Bloomberg Television, including the "Best New Small Hotel of Europe" award.
The hotel opens its doors for the first
time this year, for the winter season! In "Cressa Ghitonia”, the visitor
has the opportunity to live the authentic experience of life in a small village
in Crete.
