Cretan Cooking Workshop!

Gastronomy is an integral part of everyday life and culture of the Cretans. The abundant, pure ingredients supplied by the blessed lands of the island make it a gastronomic paradise.

The last few years, many reports have been made about the Cretan Diet and Mediterranean Diet. Thus, it is now well known that the Cretan diet is not only aromatic and delicious, but extremely healthy. The modern Dietology considers the Cretan diet and lifestyle of the Cretans as a reason for longevity and good health.

The most important product of the Cretan diet is the virgin olive oil. Equally important is the contribution of the local wine, the famous raki, the fresh vegetables and the pure meat, along with the delicious dairy products (e.g. feta & gruyere cheese).

Here, at Cressa Ghitonia Village, you can attend weekly cooking workshops held by local women of Sfaka, in order to introduce yourself to all the secrets of Cretan cuisine, and discover traditional flavors and techniques that will amaze you! Taste the homemade pastries, the yeast breads, the desserts and the sweets with honey, along with the many other traditional dishes, which are a delicious experience not only for gourmands.
