In Kavoussi village (only 10 minutes from Cressa Ghitonia Village in Sfaka), the family business “Votania”, cultivates in its big farm, a lot of local herb varieties of Crete. Stems are collected at the right period from the mountains of Crete and then they are rooted in the greenhouse at specific temperature and humidity.

This method reproduces a clone of the actual wild herb found in Crete's nature, keeping the aromas, the medicinal properties and quality of the original plant. No chemicals or pesticides are used during the cultivation, which gives an all natural and healthy produce. The firm has created a wide range of products for Herbal Tea, Spice & Spa, such us: loose herbs, teabags, soaps with olive oil & herbs, bath salts, herbal beeswax balms & creams and many others.

Cressa Ghitonia Village, in an effort to reveal the natural beauty of Eastern Crete, in collaboration with Votania, which aims to inform people about the benefits of these unique herbs and facilitate access to them, will organize this year joint special seminars (workshops) for the hotel guests!
